We’re a fast-paced, creative in-house marketing team working across a diverse mix of heritage estate, sports, hospitality, visitor attraction, school, nursery and fitness brands on The Wellington Estate. Think of us as a mini marketing agency for one brand, producing exciting content, building engaged online communities, and delivering real results across digital platforms. This is your chance to experience what it’s like working inside a busy marketing team, contributing to live campaigns and gaining hands‑on industry experience from day one.

Hours: 4 or 5 days a week, hours of work 9am – 5pm, however at times you will be required to attend events outside of normal working hours and/or days. You must have the Right to Work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a motivated and organised Social Media Assistant to join us for the summer. This is a fantastic opportunity for students or those early in their careers to gain practical experience in a real‑world marketing environment. You’ll play a key role in supporting multiple social media accounts each week across the businesses and our events, helping to plan, schedule, and track content across platforms with the Marketing Coordinator. We are looking for enthusiasm, creativity, and a willingness to learn. No prior experience is required; however, this could be an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the management of up to 20 social media accounts per week
  • Schedule and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Assist with content creation including, where possible, captions, hashtags, and simple edits
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain strong brand consistency
  • Monitor engagement (comments, messages, interactions) and spot opportunities
  • Prepare content for approval and help manage feedback
  • Keep up with trends, competitor activity, and platform updates
  • Support basic reporting and performance tracking
  • Assist the Estate Marketing Team where necessary during busy periods or event days

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A confident student or recent graduate (Marketing, Media, Business, CIM or similar is a bonus but not essential)
  • A genuine interest in social media and digital marketing
  • A creative mindset with good attention to detail
  • Organised, reliable, and able to juggle multiple tasks
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, collaborative environment
  • Good availability over the summer, including some weekends
  • Familiarity with tools like Canva or social platforms is a plus
  • Ability to drive, due to our rural location and multiple businesses

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

  • Hands‑on experience working in an in‑house marketing team (like your own mini agency)
  • Real responsibility managing live social media accounts
  • Exposure to high‑volume, fast‑paced campaign delivery
  • Mentorship and guidance from experienced marketing professionals
  • The opportunity to build a portfolio with real campaigns and content
  • Insight into how digital marketing works across multiple brands and industries
  • A great stepping stone for future roles in marketing and content creation
