Wellesley Prep School is a warm, nurturing and ambitious school where drama plays a central role in our curriculum. We are seeking an ambitious and creative individual to lead our Drama Department. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage children both on and off stage, fostering a love for drama and the performing arts. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about drama education and ready to encourage pupils to think beyond conventional boundaries.
Main Duties
- Develop and implement a dynamic drama curriculum that excites and engages pupils.
- Direct and produce school plays, performances, and other drama-related events.
- Mentor and inspire pupils in their dramatic pursuits, both in and out of the classroom.
- Collaborate with other staff members to integrate drama into the broader school curriculum.
- Encourage children to develop their creativity, confidence, and communication skills through drama.
- Maintain a supportive and inclusive environment that caters to all pupils.
- Prepare pupils for applications for senior school drama scholarships.
- Promote drama within the school and the local community, supporting local events where possible.
- Plan and lead relevant trips and events.
