Wellesley Prep School are seeking a Full Time Director of Sport. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving prep school as our Director of Sport. Sport at Wellesley is particularly strong, with the major sports being rugby, hockey, football, netball, and cricket. The school also excels in cross country, athletics, swimming, and tennis. The children have the opportunity to play golf, padel, and take part in triathlons, gymnastics, judo, and dance.
The Director of Sport is responsible for the provision and development of sport throughout the school (Pre‑Prep – Year 8). You must be able to promote excellence in coaching, sportsmanship, inclusivity, and breadth of opportunity for all pupils. You will be responsible for managing and allocating staff teaching Games, managing resources and a Games budget, and scheduling, coordinating, and administering both matches and sports tours.
This is a full‑time teaching role which includes leading the Games programme, with the addition of teaching PE. The Director of Sport must demonstrate first‑class communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues, parents, and pupils verbally and through email and social media channels. You must have outstanding organisational skills and be able to work closely with other school departments and liaise closely with senior school sports departments.
Devising and delivering a Games Programme of the highest quality for all children in the School, regardless of their innate sporting ability, will be a central aim of the Director of Sport. You must have the Right to Work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
