High School Chemistry Teacher in Saltash

St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School seeks a full‑time chemistry teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. The teacher will collaborate with the Science department and grade‑level team, advise a family in the House System, and model servant leadership through participation in grade‑level retreats.

Responsibilities

• Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
• Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Support and adhere to the standards of conduct and policies of the school.
• Plan instruction with logically sequenced objectives based on adopted curriculum and submit plans according to school policies.
• Provide appropriate materials and resources for students to engage in learning.
• Use effective instructional methods and models according to professional standards.
• Use varied assessment tools for formative and summative assessment.
• Provide instruction and assessment to promote understanding.
• Maintain current and accurate records per school policies.
• Practice positive, consistent discipline in classroom management.
• Communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, and safety concerns.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from an accredited American university or equivalent in a foreign country.

Certifications and Training

• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry policies.
• Meeting minimum teaching field requirements set by the Diocese and TCCB ED.
• Meeting staff development guidelines set by the Diocese and school administration.
• Completion of Religion Certification Part 1 within two years of hire, with a minimum of 25 hours each year.
