The Role
- Maintenance of all electrical equipment, particularly sound and lighting
- Management of all aspects of Health and Safety within teaching and performance spaces
- To act as resident Stage Manager for all productions
- Maintenance of teaching spaces ensuring they are clear and ready for teaching, especially following their use for performance
- Monitoring of consumable theatre stock and order of cost effective supplies
The Successful Candidate
Cardinal Newman College is a wonderful place to work, and this is an exciting opportunity for a creative and technically skilled candidate to join our dynamic Performing Arts team. The Performing Arts department is looking for someone with GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, along with experience of technical work within a theatre or educational environment. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the flexibility to support the varied needs of a busy Performing Arts department. You should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College and have a commitment to equality and diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
Terms and Conditions
Hours: This is an annualised hours contract for 526.5 hours per annum (an average of 13.5 hours per week) to be worked during term time (39 weeks). The hours will be worked in line with the indicative performance and rehearsal schedule included within the job pack, and will include some evening commitments. The remaining hours are to be worked flexibly across the academic year, in agreement with the department.
Salary: The post will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges’ Support Staff Pay Spine at points 7 to 8 – pro rata to £25,951 to £26,343 per annum. Actual Salary £8,279.73 to £8,404.80 per annum.
