37 hours per week, Term time only + 1 week during August.

NJC grade 3, points 07 to 11. Actual salary £23,292 to £24,826.

Required for 1st September 2026.

St Ambrose College has an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant. This post is unique in that the successful applicant will be joining the new SENDCo to drive SEND forward at St Ambrose by addressing and meeting the needs of students with physical or communication issues.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school.
  • Understanding of how to remove barriers to students achieving their potential.
  • Aspirational approach to working with students both in a 1 to 1 setting or in a classroom.
  • Understanding of how physical or communication difficulties could become a barrier to progress and achievement and how this can be successfully addressed.
  • Ability to inspire and develop learning and independence skills.
  • High expectations of students’ achievement.
  • Enthusiasm and proven ability to work as part of a team.

The post is full time with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
