The Role

  • Take the College Football Academy team matches on Wednesdays, 12.00pm – 17.00pm and training sessions on Monday and Friday 8.30am – 10.30am.
  • Arrange and confirm fixtures.
  • Book transport and referees for teams (up to 1 hour of administration time given).
  • Undertake departmental administration – for example, respond to phone calls, emails, etc.
  • Publicise events at St Augustine’s and Factory Lane to staff and students.

The Successful Candidate

Cardinal Newman College is looking for someone who has a Football Coaching Certificate (Level 2 or higher), a passion for sport demonstrated through performance, experience or higher study, and good communication skills. Applicants should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College and have a commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.

Terms and Conditions

  • Hours: 10 hours per week, from early-September to early-May. Team matches on Wednesdays 12.00 – 17.00 and training sessions on Mondays and Fridays 8.30 – 10.30, plus up to one hour for admin per week.
  • Salary: The post will be paid £22 per hour plus holiday pay. Salary is paid on a claim basis for the hours worked.
