We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Senior Science Technician to lead the technical provision within our thriving Science Department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician to play a key role in supporting the learning and development of over 1000 budding scientists across KS3–KS5. As Senior Science Technician you will work as part of a passionate team delivering a dynamic, knowledge‑rich science curriculum.
You will lead the day‑to‑day technical operations of the department, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective delivery of practical science across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, while overseeing health and safety, stock control, ordering and departmental resources. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the secondary science curriculum and practical requirements from KS3 to KS5, including experience preparing and trialling practicals, preparing chemical solutions and reagents, and ensuring all practical activities are safe, effective and curriculum‑aligned.
You will take a lead role in health and safety, including COSHH compliance, risk assessments, maintenance of chemical stores and ensuring adherence to CLEAPSS guidance. You will also support and develop other technicians, helping to build confidence and consistency in practical delivery across the department. Working closely with teaching staff and technicians you will be proactive, solutions‑focused and committed to maintaining high standards across the Science Department.
Closing Date: 27th May 2026 at 12noon. Salary is Pro rata for Term time plus 2 weeks.
