The Governors of our 2 form-entry school wish to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic SENDCO who shows relentless dedication to school improvement. The SENDCO, under the direction of the Assistant Head (Inclusion) and the Headteacher, will:
- Determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school
- Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEND or a disability
- Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
- Be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
The successful candidate will need to:
- Be able to liaise effectively with parents, carers and external agencies to support our children in being the best they can be
- Be an excellent, well qualified classroom practitioner
- Be dedicated to raising the achievement of all pupils through high standards and expectations
- Be able to work as part of a vibrant and energetic team
- Have a good understanding of the national curriculum
- Provide a positive and effective learning environment to all children in your care
- Inspire, challenge and motivate all learners
- Have excellent record‑keeping skills
