Downside School is seeking a Resident Sports Assistant for a 10‑month contract from September 2026 to June 2027. As a Resident Sports Assistant you will support the Director of Sport and deliver an extensive weekly sports and wider‑curriculum programme. You will work an average of 35 hours per week over six days (including weekends and some evenings). The role is term‑time only, with additional inset days and pre‑season training. You may also have the opportunity to take on a supported House Assistant role within a boarding house (2 evenings per week).
Requirements and qualifications:
- Experience coaching one or more of the following sports: Hockey, Netball, or Football.
- Relevant university degree or a placement opportunity as part of an undergraduate degree course.
- Confidence and willingness to drive the school minibus (Full MiDAS training will be provided).
- Passion for working with children in an educational setting.
- Ability to contribute significantly to the school’s wider‑curriculum programme.
