St Mary’s is a good school which is rapidly improving, and while it is vital that any teacher is able to secure the highest standards of attainment at GCSE and A Level, being a Teacher of RE is so much more than an academic subject.

This is a temporary post to cover a period of maternity leave that will end once the intentions of the substantive postholder are known but is anticipated to last the full academic year. RE is the core of our curriculum at St. Mary’s, which is reflected in the number of teaching rooms, curriculum time and support given. There is shared planning across the department and a wealth of expertise to support a colleague joining the department, whatever stage in their career they are.

We are looking for a teacher with the enthusiasm and skill to inspire our young people to ask the big questions of meaning, purpose and faith in their lives and to encourage them to achieve their best. Applications are welcomed from both experienced and newly qualified teachers.
