The Governors of our 2 form-entry school wish to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic SENDCO who shows relentless dedication to school improvement. As SENDCO, under the direction of the Assistant Head (Inclusion) and the Headteacher, you will:

  • Determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school
  • Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEND or a disability
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
  • Be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Be able to liaise effectively with parents, carers and external agencies to support our children in being the best they can be
  • Be an excellent, well qualified classroom practitioner
  • Be dedicated to raising the achievement of all pupils through high standards and expectations
  • Be able to work as part of a vibrant and energetic team
  • Have a good understanding of the national curriculum
  • Provide a positive and effective learning environment to all children in your care
  • Inspire, challenge and motivate all learners
  • Have excellent record‑keeping skills
  • Support the mission, vision and aims of our Catholic Primary School
