Aquinas is a thriving Catholic Sixth Form College in Stockport with over 2400 FTE students. The college wishes to appoint a British Sign Language Interpreter to start in the autumn term 2026. This is a fixed-term contract up to May 2028, offering up to 35 hours per week, term time only. Part time or job share will be considered.
The role is to provide high-quality British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation for a Deaf/Hard of Hearing student, ensuring they have full linguistic access to the curriculum, social environment, and extracurricular activities within a Sixth Form setting. You will act as the linguistic bridge between the student, their peers, and academic staff.
Salary: £48,665 to £49,831. FTE: £39,198 to £41,137 pro-rata for 35 hours per week, term time only, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. The appointment will be made on the Sixth Form Colleges’ Association (SFCA) Support Staff Pay Scale, as specified.
