St Cuthbert’s RC High School are seeking to appoint an exceptional Curriculum Leader – Science. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi‑academy trust.

This key leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and drive excellence in Science, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Location: St Cuthbert’s RC High School.

Term: Permanent.

Hours per week: 32.5.

Start date: January 2027 (or earlier if possible).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Science department, driving forward standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate the Science curriculum so it is ambitious, inclusive and aligned with whole‑school priorities.
  • Monitor pupil progress, analyse data and allocate resources to close attainment gaps.
  • Develop staff through coaching, mentoring and professional development.
  • Contribute strategically to school improvement and to the wider mission of the Trust.
  • Model excellent teaching in the classroom, inspiring pupils and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding science teacher with a proven record of securing excellent outcomes.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and the ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team.
  • Excellent subject knowledge for KS3 and KS4 and a passion for science education.
  • Experience or clear potential in leadership, coaching and colleague development.
  • Proficiency in using data to monitor performance, raise attainment and close gaps.
  • Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Full support for the Catholic ethos and values of the school.

Compensation

Salary: £32,916–£51,048 plus a TLR2b bonus of £5,871.
