Role Overview

St Cuthbert’s RC High School are seeking an exceptional Assistant Faculty Leader (Curriculum Lead – Geography). This role leads the Faculty of Global Learning and shapes excellence in Geography across KS3 and KS4.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of the Geography curriculum, ensuring it is ambitious, inclusive and aligned with whole‑school priorities.
  • Monitor pupil progress, use data to raise attainment and close gaps, and provide regular feedback to staff and stakeholders.
  • Develop and support teachers, providing coaching, professional learning and resources to improve teaching practice.
  • Contribute strategically to school improvement and the wider global learning agenda.
  • Deliver outstanding classroom practice, modelling excellent teaching and inspiring both pupils and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding teacher of Geography with a strong track record of securing excellent outcomes.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team to achieve high standards.
  • Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 and a passion for subject education.
  • Experience or clear potential in leadership, coaching and developing colleagues.
  • Proficiency in using data to monitor performance, raise attainment and close gaps.
  • Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Full support of the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
