Your Role
An opportunity exists to join the team at Catholic Education Office in the newly created position of Marketing and Communications Manager. This is a full-time continuing position, based in Rockhampton. The role presents an opportunity to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of collaborative, compelling, and effective marketing and communications strategies that support and showcase the presence and value of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic leadership in integrated communications and marketing to promote the mission and Catholic Identity of Catholic education.
- Driving enrolment growth and brand reputation.
- Leading media relations and ensuring effective team leadership, governance and operational excellence across all communications functions.
Typical Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Articulating, reflecting and promoting the distinctive identity, purpose and mission of Catholic education through integrated communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Working closely with schools and services to develop innovative marketing and promotional activities to drive student enrolment growth.
- Co-designing messaging, narratives and engagement approaches with schools and services using evidence, data and performance insights.
- Providing expert leadership in media relations, including opportunity identification, media liaison, spokesperson preparation and coordinated responses.
- Leading issues management, crisis communication and reputational risk mitigation.
- Leading the design, execution and evaluation of integrated digital and traditional marketing campaigns.
- Providing governance, oversight and optimisation of digital communications.
About You
The successful applicant will have:
- An understanding of, and a commitment to, the ethos of Catholic Education.
- Ability to work within a confidential environment.
- High level competency in information management especially social media applications.
- Industry experience in communications and stakeholder engagement at a middle to senior level.
- Effective relationship building and influencing skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- The ability to work well either individually or collaboratively as part of a team.
- The ability to adapt and be flexible within a dynamic educational setting.
- Degree level qualifications in communication and/or marketing or equivalent qualifications or specialised professional experience relevant to the role.

Mandatory Requirements

- Australian work rights.
