Your Role
You will support St Joseph’s Catholic Kindergarten, Park Avenue as a term‑time contract for 15 hours per week (5 day fortnight, Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesday). The role reports directly to the Kindergarten Director or the appointed center leader and involves collaboration with children, families and the Early Learning & Care Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist with classroom activities, including lesson preparation and resource organisation.
- Provide one‑on‑one or small group support to students, including those with additional needs.
- Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record‑keeping and organising educational materials.

Mandatory Requirements
- Current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children Act 2000 and a valid Suitability Notice.
- A minimum Certificate III in Children’s Services (or working towards) or equivalent.
- Hold one of the following child‑protection competencies or be willing to obtain:
- CHCPRT025 – Identify and report children and young people at risk.
- CHCPRT001 – Identify and respond to children and young people at risk.
- CHCPRT026 – Support the rights and safety of children and young people.
- CHCPRT002 – Support the rights and safety of children and young people.
- CHCECE057 – Use collaborative practices to uphold child‑protection principles.
