We're seeking a passionate and motivated Assistant Coordinator to join our team at St Mary's OSHC, located at St Mary's Primary School in Ipswich. Serving up to 120 children, our service is known for its vibrant, welcoming community and commitment to providing high-quality care and education. We provide Before School Care (BSC), After School Care (ASC) and Vacation Care (VAC) programs designed to support children and families throughout the school year.

About the Role:

As Assistant Coordinator, you'll work closely with the Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of the service and ensure the delivery of engaging, inclusive and high-quality programs for children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Coordinator with the daily operations of the service
  • Assist with program planning, implementation and documentation
  • Support staff rostering and supervision
  • Complete administrative and financial tasks, including fee collection
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive educational experiences
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and team members
  • Maintain a safe, secure and nurturing environment for children
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and strong service outcomes
  • Participate in ongoing professional development
  • Act as the Responsible Person when required in the Coordinator's absence

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma in Children's Services (or ACECQA equivalent)
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid, CPR, Asthma/Anaphylaxis
  • Current completion (or willingness to complete prior to commencement) of mandatory National Child Training (via Geckko)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place framework and National Law/Regulations
  • Experience in the education and care of children (OSHC)
  • Child protection training is a requirement for this role
  • Effective computer skills including experience with childcare management software (Xplor preferred)
  • Effective workplace communication
  • Leadership skills and the ability to lead a large team
