JOB SUMMARY
The Pantry Coordinator/Driver, St. Leo provides pantry and transportation support for the St. Leo Project by picking up items from SHARE Food Network for distribution to multiple locations. The position serves as the lead driver for product deliveries and donation pickups and is responsible for vehicle operation, routine upkeep, inventory support, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment. The Pantry Coordinator/Driver is the lead for the Lawrence St. Food Pantry. The position supports the Program Manager in fostering positive relationships with vendors, donors, and community partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and carry out food deliveries and donation pickups.
  • Support the assembly of SHARE packages and other food items for delivery to programs and clients.
  • Load, unload, and properly secure all food products and donations.
  • Operate delivery vehicles, including up to a 26-foot truck, for routes throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
  • Ensure routine fueling and scheduling of maintenance and service of assigned vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance and mileage logs.
  • Inspect incoming goods to verify quantity, type, and acceptable quality.
  • Record, monitor, and maintain accurate warehouse inventory using approved systems and procedures.
  • Organize, store, and protect inventory in designated areas to prevent loss, damage, fire hazards, or theft.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly food pantry at the Lawrence St. location.
  • Support the Program Supervisor in building and maintaining positive relationships with vendors, donors, and community partners.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED. 1 year experience working in a warehouse environment. Trained in operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. 1-year experience driving a 26-ft. truck.

SKILLS and COMPETENCIES
This position will require a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. At least 80 % of the time is spent driving and 20 % in a pantry environment. Knowledge of computer systems (MS Office products).
