The Role requires a Bank Nurse with a proven background in Nursing to join a growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at our state of the art Clinic providing the highest standards of Patient care.
The role involves:
- Admission nurse: Ensuring that all patients proceeding to surgery have had the opportunity to understand the potential risks and benefits of treatment.
- Assisting within the anesthetic room: preparing patients for their cataract/laser/Intra Ocular Lens (IOL) treatment and undertaking pre-screening diagnostic duties.
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure outstanding issues are addressed prior to surgery.
- Discharging patients from surgery with appropriate prescribed medication and advice, including emergency contact numbers.
- Arranging follow up care.
- Ensuring patient care is appropriate and individual requests are accommodated as far as is reasonable and safe.
- Aptitude to learn how to operate the ophthalmic laser equipment, with training provided where required.
- Educating patients on treatment plan, post procedure care and preventative care.
- Documenting Patient Information, clinical notes and treatment outcomes.
- Maintaining a sterile and organised clinical environment, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
