We are currently recruiting an Assistant Accountant to support month-end reporting and financial analysis within our growing private ophthalmology clinic. This role is ideal for a newly qualified accountant, experienced part-qualified candidate or qualified Accounts Technician seeking exposure to a full finance function in a dynamic healthcare business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Month-end & reporting
- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
- Post journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Support balance sheet reconciliations
- Produce variance analysis and supporting schedules
- Transactional oversight
- Review AR and AP postings for accuracy
- Assist with aged debt analysis and cash allocation
- Support improvements to billing and payment processes
- Compliance
- Maintain supporting documentation for controls and reconciliations
Development & progression
Opportunity to gain exposure to commercial and operational finance.
Person specification
Essential
- One of the following: Newly qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA
- Actively studying (PQ) with strong experience
- Qualified Accounting Technician (e.g. AAT)
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
Desirable
- Experience in healthcare, services or multi-site environments
- Prior exposure to month-end close
