A successful and forward-thinking accountancy practice with a strong presence across the South West is currently seeking short-term support during a peak trading period. Known for embracing modern digital tools and offering a supportive, close-knit working environment, this firm caters to a diverse client base, including high-net-worth individuals, landlords, and small business owners.
The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Temporary Accountant to join this thriving firm on a part-time basis for a minimum of four weeks, with potential for extension or even a permanent offer. The ideal candidate will be comfortable hitting the ground running and managing workloads independently, particularly in supporting self-assessment tax returns and company year-end accounts.
Hours of Work: Flexible, however, ideally looking for 10 am – 4 pm Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities of the Temporary Accountant:
- Preparation and filing of self-assessment tax returns for a range of clients, including high earners and rental portfolio holders
- Assist with the preparation and completion of company\’s year-end accounts
- Maintain accurate data and perform reconciliations using Xero accounting software
- Collaborate with the team as needed while maintaining a high level of autonomy
Key Requirements of the Temporary Accountant:
- Proven experience completing self-assessment tax returns and year-end accounts
- Proficient in Xero, particularly in reconciliation and digital submissions
- Self-sufficient and proactive in a small team setting
- Available immediately and able to commit for a minimum of four weeks
