An established Devon based accountancy firm are looking for an Audit and Accounts Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a meaningful impact.

The Role

  • You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of clients, from SMEs to charitable organisations to the whole agricultural sector, leading audits from planning to completion, preparing financial statements, and overseeing corporation tax compliance.
  • Working closely with Partners, you’ll help deliver high-quality, tailored advice all year round — not just at year-end.
  • In addition, you’ll play an important role in coaching junior team members, contributing to internal reporting and helping drive continuous improvement across the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and complete audit assignments from planning through to sign-off.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and corporation tax returns.
  • Develop strong, trusted client relationships through responsive and proactive service.
  • Review the work of junior team members and provide mentoring and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage billing requirements.
  • Represent the firm at networking and business development events.

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Experienced in audit within a practice environment.
  • A confident communicator with excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Passionate about developing others and supporting team growth.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Southwest region and comfortable with face to face client meetings.
