A leading and innovative shipbuilding company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their dynamic team. Based in the scenic Outer Hebrides, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of an internationally recognised shipbuilding business. The company specialises in constructing commercial steel workboats and prides itself on delivering high-quality, reliable vessels to a global client base.
Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to take charge of the entire project lifecycle, ensuring shipbuilding projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and play a key role in driving efficiency, quality, and innovation within the company.
Responsibilities for the Project Manager include:
- Oversee and manage shipbuilding projects from initiation to completion, ensuring all project objectives are met
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including budgets, resource allocation, and timelines
- Lead and coordinate efforts across multiple departments, including engineering, procurement, production, and quality assurance
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring smooth communication and project execution
Requirements of the Project Manager include:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within the shipbuilding or maritime industry
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in leading diverse teams
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices in shipbuilding
