Part-Time Management Accountant
Exeter
Our client, a dynamic and growing business with their HQ on the outskirts of Exeter, is looking for a hands-on, part-time Management Accountant to support their finance function on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day running of accounts and supporting financial operations. The role is approximately three days per week and offers a flexible working pattern.
Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant:
- Monthly Accounts & Reporting β Prepare and post journals, assist with month-end close, and compile monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
- Revenue & Billing β Monitor billing processes, ensure accurate revenue recognition, and investigate discrepancies where needed.
- Reconciliations β Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, prepayments, and deferred income.
- Payroll Support & Tax Compliance β Liaise with external payroll providers and assist with PAYE, VAT, and Corporation Tax returns.
- Budget & Forecast Input β Provide support with budgeting and forecasting, gathering departmental inputs and updating models.
- Cash Flow & Credit Control β Track cash flow, support credit control activity, and chase outstanding payments where required.
- Audit Preparation β Maintain financial records, support asset register management, and assist with audit preparation.
- Finance Admin & Support β Provide day-to-day accounting support across the finance function, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements for the Management Accountant:
- Part-qualified or qualified by experience (QBE) with solid all-round management accounting experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of month-end processes, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Comfortable operating in a standalone or small-team environment.
- Proficient in accounting software and Excel; experience with QuickBooks would be beneficial.
- A proactive and organised approach, with excellent attention to detail.
