£15.38 per hour DOE | Temporary – 4 months | Totnes

A respected organisation based in Totnes is seeking a capable Interim Finance Officer to join their team on a 4-month contract. This position offers a great opportunity to gain valuable experience within a supportive and mission-driven environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager and ensuring smooth financial operations.

The Role:

The Interim Finance Officer will provide essential support to the finance department, contributing to the integrity and efficiency of financial operations. This includes maintaining records, processing payroll, and assisting with wider financial functions. The role will also involve routine administrative duties to help ensure continuity and compliance.

Hours of Work: Flexible, either four full days or five shorter days

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Finance Officer:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation
  • Manage payroll tasks and general finance-related administration

Key Requirements of the Interim Finance Officer:

  • Experience working in a finance or accounting role
  • Ideally qualified in accounting/finance (AAT, or similar), with knowledge of Sage50 or Sage Intact
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and financial software
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication with non-finance colleagues
