Role Overview
We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Finance & Payroll Assistant to support payroll processing and day-to-day finance operations on a two-month temporary assignment.
This varied role combines payroll administration with finance duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple areas while ensuring accuracy, compliance and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Support the accurate processing of payroll, including starters, leavers, statutory payments and payroll queries.
- Assist with purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations and other day-to-day finance transactions.
- Maintain accurate financial and payroll records, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and internal procedures.
- Work closely with finance and HR colleagues to provide an efficient, responsive service and support continuous process improvements.
Requirements
- Previous experience in payroll administration with a good understanding of UK payroll legislation.
- Experience supporting finance functions, including purchase ledger, sales ledger and reconciliations.
- Good working knowledge of payroll or finance systems together with intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
