A long-established, stable, and well-respected business with a friendly, down-to-earth culture is seeking an Accounts Supervisor to join their finance team. Operating from modern premises and employing over 50 staff across multiple departments, this organisation is known for its supportive environment, extremely low staff turnover, and commitment to developing people for the long term. The Role
As Accounts Supervisor, you will play an integral role in the smooth running of the finance function while learning the business end-to-end. The first year will focus on gaining a deep understanding of systems, customers, and processes, before gradually taking on additional responsibilities as part of a structured progression pathway. Working closely with senior leadership, you will become a key point of contact across the business and contribute to the department’s long-term development.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounts activities including purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations, credit control and customer communication.
- Support month-end processes and work alongside external accountants, auditors, and payroll providers.
- Gradually shadow the Finance Director with the aim of assuming senior responsibilities over time.
- Assist in improving processes, efficiencies and reporting across the finance function.
Requirements
- Strong experience in day-to-day accounting with the confidence to communicate clearly across the business.
- Down-to-earth, proactive and willing to get involved in the detail; comfortable engaging with customers.
- Ambitious and capable of long-term development; supervisory experience or Sage Line 50 knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
- Highly organised with good numerical accuracy and a positive, solutions-focused approach.
