Our client, a respected organisation in the not-for-profit sector, is seeking a highly skilled Director of Finance to join their leadership team. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality services to the community, they are committed to financial sustainability and governance excellence.
The Role
This is a pivotal leadership position, responsible for financial strategy, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial sustainability while leading the governance framework, risk management, and compliance processes. As part of the Senior Management Team, you will provide strategic financial guidance and oversee governance structures to support operational decision-making.
This is a 6-month Fixed-Term Contract with a hybrid working model and access to Exeter.
Responsibilities of the Director of Finance include: –
- Lead financial strategy development and ensure long-term financial sustainability
- Oversee corporate governance, risk management, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Provide financial and strategic advice to the CEO, Board of Trustees, and Senior Leadership Team
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, budget management, and compliance with statutory requirements
Requirements of the Director of Finance include: –
- Qualified Accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with substantial experience at the Director level
- Proven expertise in financial strategy, governance, and risk management within a regulated environment
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing finance teams and contributing to strategic decision-making
- Advanced knowledge of VAT, HMRC, payroll regulations, and statutory accounting requirements
