This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a busy production environment. The role focuses on the build and assembly of bespoke machinery, working from detailed engineering drawings and contributing directly to the delivery of high-quality, precision-engineered equipment.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter:- Assemble special purpose machinery and sub-assemblies to engineering drawings and specifications
- Fit mechanical components including bearings, gears, and taper lock pulleys
- Install pneumatic and hydraulic pipework as part of machine builds
- Carry out quality checks and maintain a safe, organised working environment
- Time-served Mechanical Fitter or Engineer with a recognised mechanical qualification
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Experience working with hand tools and power tools in an assembly environment
- Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, with fabrication experience advantageous
- Competitive salary up to Β£35,000 to Β£38,000 depending on experience
