Our client is an established and highly regarded law firm based in Exeter, with additional offices across the South West. The firm has developed a strong reputation and is dedicated to offering high-quality legal advice and resolution services in areas such as divorce, separation, child arrangements, social services, and domestic abuse. The practice is made up of highly experienced solicitors, legal executives, paralegals, and mediators, supported by specialist staff across its offices.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Family Paralegal to join a well-established legal team in Exeter. This role is integral in providing high-quality support to clients, Solicitors and Legal Executives while ensuring compliance with legal standards and best practice. You will play a key part in progressing client matters, assisting with case management, and supporting the firm’s continued growth within the Legal Services profession.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing compliance documentation for review and approval by Solicitors or Legal Executives.
  • Drafting legal correspondence and statements for Solicitor approval.
  • Liaising with clients and third parties via email, telephone, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Assisting with financial management of cases, including preparing invoices and posting slips.
  • Providing dedicated support within either the Childcare or Divorce team.

About you

  • Previous experience as a Paralegal or Legal Executive in a Family team.
  • A positive attitude, able to work with empathy and clarity with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Experience of using technology and legal systems to support efficient working.
  • A values based approach to your work, focusing on professionalism and collaboration.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, discretionary Christmas leave, and birthday leave.
  • Employer pension contribution.
