Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive
Finance Assistant to join a busy finance team on a temporary, full-time basis.
Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will provide accurate transactional processing and day-to-day financial administration, helping the wider organisation maintain effective financial operations.
This is a great opportunity for someone with previous finance experience who enjoys working with numbers, managing varied priorities and providing excellent service to colleagues and suppliers.
Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant
- Process purchase orders, supplier invoices and payments, ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Reconcile supplier statements, manage finance queries and maintain supplier information.
- Process staff expenses, credit card transactions, sales invoices and other day-to-day financial administration.
- Support month-end and year-end processes, audit preparation, financial compliance and wider finance queries.
Requirements of the Finance Assistant
- AAT Level 2 qualification or relevant practical experience working within a finance or accounts function.
- Good numeracy skills, with GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.
- Confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Excel, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience within education or the public sector, or AAT Level 3, would be advantageous.
- You will be subject to DBS Checks for this role, being on the Update Service would be advantageous.
- Competitive hourly rate of £14.00 - £15.50 DOE.
