The Opportunity

As Sales Engineer you'll inherit an established customer base whilst actively developing new business opportunities across trade, wholesale and key accounts. Working closely with the CEO and wider commercial team, you'll become a key contributor to the future growth of the business. Rather than stepping into an existing management position, you'll initially focus on becoming an expert in the products, customers and commercial strategy before progressing into a Sales Manager position as the business continues to grow. If you're commercially driven, technically minded and naturally enjoy building relationships, this role offers genuine long-term career progression.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow relationships with existing trade and wholesale customers.
  • Identify and win new business opportunities across the UK.
  • Provide technical advice and product recommendations.
  • Manage key customer accounts, ensuring excellent levels of service.
  • Work alongside internal teams to deliver the best customer experience.
  • Analyse customer trends and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Attend customer meetings, trade shows and industry events.
  • Support the ongoing growth of export and international sales.
  • Play a key role in shaping the future commercial strategy.
  • Progress into a Sales Manager role as you develop within the business.

Requirements:

  • Experience selling technical, engineering or industrial products.
  • Strong business development and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach to winning new business.
  • Excellent communication and commercial awareness.
  • Confidence speaking with both technical and non-technical customers.
  • CRM experience.
  • Knowledge of machinery, tools, manufacturing or engineering products would be highly advantageous.

You'll likely have experience in one or more of the following: Technical Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Account Manager, Internal Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager.
