An award-winning software organisation based in Glasgow is looking for a collaborative Software Engineer with some commercial experience to join their growing team. The organisation offers an excellent work-life balance, supports hybrid working (around two days per week), and uses a variety of modern technologies. They have been operating successfully for over 20 years and provide a very stable and supportive environment.
The team is currently very busy with projects and looking to bring in a couple of additional Software Engineers (growth roles!) to help with the workload. This is definitely an environment where you will get stuck in and have genuine opportunities to learn new technologies, gain certifications, take on additional responsibilities, and accelerate your career.
You will be dedicated to a specific project team, with projects typically running anywhere from a month to over a year. As the organisation works with a broad mix of technologies, you will gain exposure to different languages and frameworks - it’s a great learning environment, where you will never stagnate or feel bored.
The tech stack commonly includes .NET, TypeScript, React.js, Node.js, Python, AWS, and Azure, and they are strong advocates for modern DevOps practices (Bicep, Terraform, Kubernetes etc.). Anyone with experience or a genuine interest in these areas would be a great fit. The company also stays ahead of the curve with emerging tech, already running projects in AI and ML - offering opportunities to get involved in that space too.
As the organisation is fairly tech agnostic, they are looking for Software Engineers with experience in at least one of their core languages and a strong desire to learn. What matters most is attitude - the ideal candidate will be passionate, collaborative, and driven.
Their offices are based in central Glasgow, with good transport links and on-site parking. They support hybrid working, where you will be expected onsite a couple of days a week to collaborate with colleagues. The company is a strong believer in maintaining a sustainable work-life balance - when you’re finished and off the clock, you’re done!
In return, they are offering a salary from £30,000 to £40,000 (with scope for more if someone really impresses). This is genuinely a great opportunity for someone looking to build a strong career in Software Engineering - you will be thrown into meaningful projects, gain valuable commercial experience, and work with a wide range of modern technologies alongside highly skilled Engineers.
