A well-known luxury hospitality and leisure organisation with a global reputation for excellence is seeking an experienced Data Platform Engineer to support and evolve its modern data platform. This is a hands-on contract role with end-to-end ownership across data engineering, analytics enablement, and platform operations.
What you'll do:
- Design, build, and optimise ELT/ETL pipelines into Snowflake and Oracle using SQL, Python, and modern orchestration
- Own platform performance, observability, and cost optimisation (FinOps)
- Deliver well-modelled, business-ready data products and certified Power BI datasets and semantic models
- Implement robust data governance, quality, security, and GDPR-aligned controls
- Operate the platform day-to-day: monitoring, alerting, CI/CD, and incident management
- Partner with business teams to turn data into trusted insight and measurable outcomes
What we're looking for:
- Advanced SQL (Snowflake & Oracle) and solid Python
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, ADF, Matillion or similar tools
- Strong Power BI skills (dataset design, DAX optimisation, deployment pipelines)
- Proven experience running production data platforms
- Confident with RBAC, masking/encryption, auditability, and compliance
- Proactive, collaborative, and quality-focused
