A global professional services organisation is looking for an experienced Network Team Lead to join their IT function on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract in Glasgow (hybrid).

This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role within a well-established global environment, managing a team of five network engineers while helping ensure the smooth delivery of core network services. The Global Network team manages LAN, WAN, firewall and internet access technologies across the business, and this role will play a key part in leading day-to-day operations while ensuring BAU work and project activity are delivered effectively.

You will manage a team based across Glasgow and London, overseeing workload allocation, monitoring performance against SLAs and acting as an escalation point for complex network issues. Working closely with other IT team leads and infrastructure teams, you will ensure tasks are prioritised, processes are followed and work is delivered in line with business expectations.

A large part of the role involves coordinating BAU work, managing task backlogs and supporting internal projects, while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders across the organisation. Although this is a people-focused leadership role, solid networking knowledge is important as you will provide guidance and act as a senior escalation point.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience leading or managing a network team
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience coordinating BAU work and internal IT projects
  • Confidence handling escalations and complex issues
  • Experience with Jira, ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

The role is based in central Glasgow with hybrid working (3 days in the office), with occasional early morning calls with international teams. This is an initial 6-month FTC created due to increased workload. While an extension isn’t guaranteed, it may be possible depending on business needs. They are offering a competitive salary (happy to discuss over a call).

If this sounds of interest, please apply or contact Matt MacAlpine for more information. Cathcart Technology is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
