Business Systems & Applications Manager required to lead a portfolio of business‑critical enterprise systems within a global organisation undergoing continued technology modernisation in London. This is a senior role with responsibility for ensuring core platforms are stable, secure, and evolving in line with business priorities, while also driving improvement, integration, and greater value from the application landscape.
The Organisation
This is a large, global organisation where technology plays a central role in how the business operates. Core systems underpin finance, people, knowledge management, client engagement, and service delivery, making this a high‑profile and business‑critical position. The organisation continues to invest in modern platforms, cloud services, automation, and integration, with a strong emphasis on reliability, security, and scalability. Technology leaders work closely with senior stakeholders and are trusted to shape long‑term direction as well as day‑to‑day outcomes.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of a suite of core enterprise applications, setting direction for their ongoing development while ensuring they are robust, well supported, and aligned to wider organisational goals. The system and application suite includes: Elite 3E, Intapp, iManage, ServiceNow, Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM (with consideration being given to a future move to Workday) and InterAction CRM. Candidates must be able to demonstrate hands‑on ownership of at least two systems from this suite, including responsibility for roadmap planning, operational performance, and change delivery. A key focus of the role is modernising and evolving the application landscape, including moving systems forward through improved integration, automation, and cloud adoption. You’ll balance long‑term roadmap planning with the realities of running mission‑critical platforms in a global, 24/7 environment. You’ll also lead and develop teams, while working closely with senior stakeholders and third‑party partners to manage priorities, resolve issues, and deliver change without disrupting the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning the strategy, roadmap, and operational health of enterprise platforms
- Leading initiatives to modernise systems, improve integrations, and support cloud‑based solutions
- Ensuring applications are reliable, secure, and well governed, with strong controls and documentation in place
- Working across the business to understand needs, manage demand, and translate requirements into practical technology outcomes
- Overseeing vendors and suppliers, holding them accountable for service quality, cost, and delivery
- Supporting complex incidents and live service issues when required, ensuring minimal disruption
- Playing a key role in system considerations related to growth, change, and integration activity
- Building, mentoring, and developing high‑performing teams
What They’re Looking For
- Strong experience managing enterprise‑scale applications in a complex, regulated, or professional services environment
- Demonstrable hands‑on experience with at least two systems from the application suite listed above
- A track record of leading system integration, modernisation, or cloud‑aligned initiatives
- Confident people leader with experience managing teams and third‑party partners
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to balance competing priorities and influence at senior levels
- Solid understanding of live service, support, and operational resilience in a 24/7 environment
- Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets, licensing, and supplier contracts
The Offer
A competitive salary and benefits package is on offer, alongside hybrid working (typically 2/3 days per week in the East End office). This is an opportunity to step into a senior applications leadership role and make a meaningful impact on a critical technology landscape. If this sounds of interest, please apply or reach out to Murray Simpson.
