We\’re working with a growing Scottish software company that\’s making waves in a very niche, but globally significant industry, helping some of the biggest names in this line of work manage their inventory and operations more efficiently. Think household and internationally recognised brands – their client list is impressive. They\’re on the lookout for an Automation Test Engineer to take ownership of their automation strategy. This is a high impact role where you\’ll play a central part in shaping how quality is driven across the product; a newly rebuilt web based platform using Angular. There\’s a solid test framework in place already (built in Playwright), but they need someone who can level it up. The Role You\’ll work alongside the Product Manager and Development team, owning the test automation side of things. The role is largely focused on automation, with only occasional involvement in manual testing. You\’ll maintain and extend the Playwright framework, create automated test cases, improve test coverage, and push quality forward. The team is remote first and highly collaborative, with regular standups and a clear structure. This is a great opportunity for someone who\’s technical, autonomous, and enjoys working at pace in a role where they can really take ownership. What they\’re looking for: 5+ years\’ experience in a QA role 3+ years\’ experience with test automation; ideally using Playwright (Experience with other tools like Selenium or Cypress may be fine, but willingness to switch to Playwright is key) Comfortable coding in TypeScript or JavaScript (essential for maintaining existing scripts) Front end testing experience, ideally for apps built in Angular A strong eye for usability, accessibility, and user experience Someone with initiative; able to run with tasks, solve problems, and work cross functionally What you\’ll get: Up to £55,000 DOE + market leading discretionary bonus Fully remote (team is based across the UK, with no expectation to go to Aberdeen) 32 days\’ holiday (rising to 34 after a year) Private healthcare, virtual GP access, wellbeing support, life assurance, income protection 5% employer pension contribution Funded training, home office equipment allowance They\’re part of a wider international group, so there\’s scope for future career progression while still enjoying the feel of a close knit Scottish tech company.
