This role is part of a professional team in our Flight Operations Department, which consists of flight crew and ground staff teams, both working to ensure the highest standards of operational efficiency and service. Safety is intrinsic to everything we do. As a Simulator Instructor at Cathay, you will be responsible for training and evaluating flight crew members. Your role includes developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to ensure pilots are proficient in operating various aircraft and adhering to safety protocols. You will conduct simulator sessions, assess crew performance, and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills and knowledge. Your contributions are essential in maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence within the airline.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Instructional duties as a Flight Simulator Instructor in accordance with the Cathay operations manuals.
- Maintain Company standards and Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) requirements.
- Make development recommendations and implement Management approved amendments in accordance with course development procedure.
- Carry out courseware development duties as required.
- Ensure records of training are completed on time and submit reports as required.
- Ensure satisfactory training aids and up to date manuals are provided.
- Undergo annual Standardisation Check to ensure training is of the highest standard and in compliance with HKCAD and Company standards.
- Achieve and maintain the standard to be issued with a HKCAD Approved Person certification.
- Able to support Special training projects as required.
Requirements
- Must hold or previously held an internationally recognized Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL (A)).
- Have completed at least 1,500 hours of flying experience as a pilot in multi-pilot aircraft operations.
- Should have previous experience as a training pilot or check pilot in commercial operations.
- Desirable to have simulator instructor experience.
- Successful pre-employment background check (including criminal records).
- As the position you are applying for is a Safety Sensitive Role you are also required to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Knowledge
- Knowledge commensurate with providing modern airline initial and recurrent level training.
- Possess the ability to mentor and train ab initio flight students.
- Able to demonstrate suitable flying skills.
- Should also be able to demonstrate trainer skills to a high level of conduct.
- Able to use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
