We are looking for an ambitious, part-qualified Management Accountant to join our head office finance team and focus heavily on the Logistics part of our expanding group.
This is a unique, fully office-based opportunity in Croydon where you'll gain direct access to our Financial Director and Managing Director, moving quickly beyond simple reporting to provide the financial insights that drive key commercial decisions.
The Opportunity: More Than Just Accounts
Reporting to the Management Accountant, your initial focus will be on ensuring accurate and timely reporting for a subset of our group companies. We offer support for your professional qualification for candidates pursuing ACCA or ACA.
Initial Focus & Core Tasks
- Management Accounts Reporting: Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting & Cash Flow: Manage the budgeting process and assist in financial forecasting; a key focus will be on managing cash flow and accounts payable.
- Compliance: Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, legal regulations, and tax requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting processes and enhancing efficiency.
Growth and Commercial Scope
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to senior management and stakeholders.
- Identify risks and opportunities to recommend strategies for improvement.
- Be involved in using financial data to help run the business, moving from a processing role to one of strategic doing.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Qualification Status: Part-qualified and actively studying towards ACCA or ACA.
- Experience: Proven experience in accounting or financial roles, with strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
