We are looking for a creative, tenacious, and well-connected Content Researcher to source eye-catching, real-life stories featuring female protagonists aged 18–28, based in the United States. These are the kinds of stories that grab attention, spark conversation, and make people stop scrolling.
The stories we’re after aren’t heavy or serious – think shocking, unusual, funny, and outrageous tales with strong human-interest appeal. If you’ve got a nose for the bizarre, the cheeky, and the “can-you-believe-this?” type of content, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Research and uncover unique real-life stories featuring young women aged 18–28, US-based.
- Build and maintain networks to identify and pitch potential stories quickly.
- Evaluate story potential based on originality, appeal, and shareability.
- Reach out to potential case studies and contributors, securing their participation and necessary permissions.
- Work closely with the editorial team to package stories for maximum impact.
About You
- A natural storyteller with an eye for the unusual, quirky, and sensational.
- Understands the importance of visual impact and has a natural instinct for how stories should be packaged for watchability and to stop the scroll on social media.
- Ideally has proficient editing and thumbnail editing skills to enhance story presentation/delivery.
- Experience in content research, journalism, media, or similar role.
- Strong communication and networking skills — comfortable approaching and interviewing potential contributors.
- Creative thinker with the ability to spot trends and viral potential.
- Highly organized and able to juggle multiple leads at once.
- Knowledge of current trends, youth culture, and regional nuances.
- Prior experience in media or journalism is a plus
- Bachelor\’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field
