Caters Media Group is looking for an experienced Senior Story Producer with outstanding editorial judgement, leadership instincts, and a deep understanding of visual storytelling to help shape, guide, and elevate our real-life content particularly for women aged 18–28. This is a senior editorial role for someone who not only knows how to produce high-performing, social-first stories, but also understands editorial responsibility, legal risk, and strategy. You will lead by example — identifying gaps in storytelling, skills, and processes, ensuring consistently high standards, and strategically driving the team to deliver content that is compelling, compliant, and culturally relevant.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the discovery, development, and delivery of visually led high-quality real-life stories across social and digital platforms.
- Taking full editorial ownership of stories from pitch to publication, ensuring accuracy, tone, visual clarity, and audience relevance.
- Shaping raw footage into strong visual narratives, understanding how images, pacing, and emotion drive engagement on social platforms.
- Identifying gaps in storytelling quality, editorial judgement, or skills both in your own work and across the team and actively addressing them.
- Providing clear editorial leadership and constructive feedback to develop producers’ visual and narrative storytelling skills.
- Ensuring all content meets legal and editorial standards, with a strong working knowledge of defamation and relevant media law, compliance, and contributor care.
- Acting as a senior point of escalation for sensitive, complex, or high-risk stories, making confident and informed editorial decisions.
- Writing and overseeing scripts and copy that complement visual storytelling, emotionally engaging, accurate, and platform-appropriate.
- Using performance data and audience insight to inform editorial decisions and evolve storytelling approaches.
- Staying ahead of social, cultural, and visual trends and translating them into a clear editorial strategy.
- Helping shape workflows, best practices, and editorial guidelines to support consistency, quality, and legal safety across the team.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has senior-level editorial experience and strong storytelling judgement.
- Has a real understanding of visual storytelling and how stories are built through video, pacing, and emotion.
- Demonstrates a solid, practical working knowledge of defamation and relevant media law, ideally supported by a media law qualification or formal training.
- Can confidently identify editorial risks, weaknesses, or gaps and take proactive steps to address them.
- Thinks strategically about storytelling, not just what works now, but how to evolve formats and narrative approaches over time.
- Writes and edits with clarity, authority, and empathy.
- Is comfortable making decisions, setting direction, and guiding a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Has a strong understanding of Gen Z audiences, particularly women aged 18–27.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a senior digital, social, or real-life storytelling role.
- Strong knowledge of editorial guidelines, compliance, and legal considerations, particularly defamation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring and influencing others.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple stories, priorities, and deadlines.
- Analytical and reflective — able to assess performance, identify gaps, and drive improvement.
- A genuine passion for responsible, visually led real-life storytelling.
If you’re ready to take a leadership role in shaping high-impact visual storytelling while setting and maintaining rigorous editorial and legal standards, we’d love to hear from you.
