Role Definition
As a Technology Project Team Leader in the Emissions and Product Regulatory Compliance department, you will have business-side responsibilities in support of development, deployment, and maintenance of Caterpillar’s bespoke software systems used for various certification, compliance and related workflows. You will leverage expert knowledge of project leadership to ensure work is delivered on time and budget, from initial concept through implementation. You will manage projects involving multiple organizations, products, and jurisdictions to deliver solutions to meet current and future regulatory requirements and support efficient business process execution.
Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional teams to deliver software tools to improve the speed and accuracy of certification, compliance and related workflows.
Ensure project scope, requirements and use cases are well defined for successful software development and user acceptance testing.
Coordinate resources across the department, engineering groups, manufacturing facilities, IT and other functional areas as needed.
Oversee project progress and costs; communicate status with stakeholders and participating organizations; address and resolve problems; drive projects to completion on time and within budget; ensure usability of delivered solutions and realization of business value.
Provide specialized technical support and consulting to various areas of the organization.
Degree Requirement
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience desired

Project Management: Expert knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control multiple concurrent projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Requirements Development and Analysis: Extensive knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirements development and analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; proven ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Expert knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; proven ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Team Leadership: Expert knowledge of effective team building techniques; proven ability to form and manage effective teams through complex, cross-functional projects.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of how to leverage software to support complex, business critical processes; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Six Sigma Blackbelt or other project leadership certifications
Extensive experience developing requirements in support of business software development.
Expert knowledge in use of Microsoft content management, collaboration, and reporting tools including Sharepoint and Power BI.
Knowledge of Teamcenter and other product data management systems.
Experience with Caterpillar’s CDM system.
Experience with multiple approaches to change management and leading teams to successful implementation of new processes and tools.
