Engineering Maintenance Technician (Single and Dual Discipline) Scheme: Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3)
Location: Peterlee, County Durham
Hours: 36.5 (Full-Time)
Salary: £15,184 (will increase in line with the academic calendar each year rising to circa £37,000)

Caterpillar Peterlee are recruiting multiple Engineering Maintenance Technician apprenticeships across various disciplines that may include Maintenance, Mechanical, Auto Electrical and Supply Chain.
Working for Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat® Articulated Trucks, currently producing an 8-model range used in many industries including mining, construction, and aggregates. The facility’s manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology, and a state-of-the-art paint plant. Machines from the site are shipped to customers around the world.
During the course of the apprenticeship, students will work towards achieving their qualification supported by their line manager, technical mentor and Organisation, Talent and Development team in addition to their academic learning through their training provider and work-based assessor.
Structure of the apprenticeship Level 3 - Engineering Maintenance Technician (Single and Dual Discipline): The first year of the apprenticeship will be spent studying full time at Hartlepool College. Following this, years 2 - 4 are spent in the workplace with a weekly day release to college. Day release to college may reduce to 3 years depending on existing qualifications.
Background/Experience required:
- 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (including English, Maths and Science) OR
- 3 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (including English, Maths, Science) AND Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) OR
- 3 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above and GCSE in an Engineering related subject OR
- 3 GCSEs Grade 4 or above AND A-Level in Engineering or Science related subject.
