Salary Grade: £41,593 + depending on experience

About IPSD: Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary: As a Test and Validation Senior Associate Technologist, job assignments are planned to provide experience and familiarisation with the technical staff, methods, practices, and programs of the company in both component and engine tests. The role includes planning, test preparation, test execution including operation of component rigs and reporting out of results. Development and learning opportunities will be provided to gather relevant information, compare and contrast data, identify relationships, and predict and manage failures.
Additional Info: Work in office 5 days per week, Opportunity to travel to customer to perform testing.
What You Will Do:
- Work with customers to determine test requirements
- Set up component engineering rigs and instrumentation for data acquisition
- Perform test work in the lab, engine test cell or on the final machine installation. Manage a range of current test requests
- Post process the data
- Report back on test status and completion.

- Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.
