Location: Peterborough

Salary: £26,000, Share Scheme, Pension and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), Employee Discount Scheme & Employee Assistance Program.

We currently have some exciting opportunities for industrial placement students to join Caterpillar across several of our sites. You will have the opportunity to work with others across our organisation and you will be directly involved in strategic projects.

*Please note that to be eligible to complete a 12-Month Industrial Placement commencing July 2027, you must be in your penultimate year of study unless enrolled in an integrated master’s program.

What experiences can we offer you? During our yearlong scheme, we place an emphasis on multiple diverse projects. You will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with people in Caterpillar facilities worldwide. You will be a fully involved team member with responsibility and accountability for key project deliverables. Our placement roles have the additional benefit of a workplace mentor who will support you throughout your time at Caterpillar.

This role gives you the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge as you take responsibility for delivering diverse and strategically important business projects to the right quality, on time and to budget. Rotations during the scheme can vary in length majoring in the Operational Logistics discipline involving:

• Logistics planning for introducing new products and process introduction.
• Continuous improvement opportunities on existing or planned production facilities.
• Deploying logistics-based automation solutions to optimise operational efficiency.
• Project management of capital asset deployment, facilitating and onboarding new equipment.
• Working closely with the operational team to ensure logistics engineering alignment.
• Developing working practices and operational policies across different areas such as goods inwards, point of use replenishment and outbound dispatch.
• Developing a plan for every part, monitoring and optimising lineside and material feed processes in and out of the factory.
• Presenting technical logistics information in local and stakeholder meetings.

Placement students will begin their placement on 5th July 2027. This position requires working onsite five days a week.
