About EPD: Caterpillar's Electric Power Division (EPD) offers integrated solutions, parts, and services to meet the needs of our various commercial and industrial electric power customers. EPD supports a wide range of customer applications across the globe, including providing back-up power to hospitals, providing emergency power when natural disasters strike, and supporting critical infrastructure for data centres, municipalities, and more. The opportunity: As the Production Manager, you will work in a collaborative environment, interfacing with external contractors and various support functions such as project management and engineering to drive the success of the Fabrications Team at the Larne Facility. You will manage a team consisting of team leaders, semi-skilled and skilled personnel to coordinate activities, prepare schedules, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards at the Larne Facility.
What you will do:
- Supervise and direct the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance.
- Create reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality.
- Prepare, maintain, and update documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensuring all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards.
- Train new hires, manage scheduling and work conflicts, monitor safety, and promote internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
What you have:
- Talent Management: Ability to manage diverse teams and adjust management and personal style to fit the needs of different people and different situations.
- Quality Management: Adheres to organizational quality management processes and practices. Applies key aspects of continuous improvement processes and evaluates impact on quality.
- Planning and Organizing: Identifies the critical goals and tasks required to meet daily objectives and tracks the implementation of tasks closely to ensure that desired outcomes are achieved.
- Manufacturing Operations: Ability to communicate and collaborate across departments to ensure a smooth workflow in the plant or facility.
- Manufacturing Safety: Assesses and reports unusual or new safety hazards or violations; initiates corrective action.
Top candidates will also have:
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- SAP (ERP) functional knowledge
- Lean Manufacturing Experience
- Experience leading a team of 15+ employees
