The Opportunity
As an Inventory Counter, you will support the accuracy of inventory records across all product lines by completing stock counts and investigating discrepancies. Through careful analysis and confident use of inventory systems, you will help maintain strong controls, support audit checks, and contribute to successful delivery of year‑end inventory objectives.
As an Inventory Counter, you are accountable for, but not limited to:
- Completing physical, cycle, test, and discrepancy count to ensure inventory records accurately reflect actual stock positions.
- Investigating inventory variances through first‑stage analysis to identify transactional or process‑related causes.
- Processing inventory adjustments and maintaining accurate records within Glovia in line with defined procedures.
- Working with PD, Engineering, and Logistics teams to resolve discrepancies and support correct material flow.
- Supporting department and year‑end inventory objectives by contributing to accuracy targets and audit preparation.
- Always following Health & Safety requirements and demonstrating Caterpillar’s Values in Action.
What You Can Demonstrate:
- Stock Accuracy: Carry out accurate stock counts so system records match physical stock and accuracy targets are consistently met.
- Analysis: Review transactions, receipts, and material movement to understand why discrepancies occur and help prevent repeat issues.

- Logistics Awareness: Understands material flow within a manufacturing environment to help spot potential causes of discrepancies.
- Continuous Improvement Focus: Actively suggests improvements to counting methods, accuracy, or controls based on observation and learning.
