Overview

As Operations Learning Manager, you will create and own a local learning plan for Desford and Stockton, aligning training with current operations and future skills. You’ll integrate apprenticeships, early careers, and leadership development to support day-to-day performance and long-term workforce needs. You’ll partner with site teams, HR Learning, and leaders to ensure practical, impactful training that enhances operations and safety. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with a clear impact on capability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own a structured learning plan for Desford and Stockton aligned to operations and future skills
  • Identify current and future training needs across shopfloor, leadership, and professional roles
  • Design training programmes that support safe, effective day-to-day operations and align with priorities
  • Collaborate with managers to agree training approaches, address skills gaps, and drive performance improvement
  • Deliver training and hands-on coaching, coordinating with trainers, vendors, and learning technologies in live environments
  • Leverage internal capabilities and external suppliers to achieve learning outcomes and value for money
  • Review training effectiveness, gather feedback, and continuously improve content and delivery
