As an Accountant at Caterpillar Building Construction Products (BCP), you will independently perform accounting responsibilities involving the preparation, analysis, and communication of issues ranging from moderate to high complexity. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience supporting the BCP Engineering and Procurement Organizations. In this role, you will review and analyze financial data, provide insightful commentary to Engineering and Procurement leadership, and contribute to projects aimed at improving efficiency, enhancing reporting and providing business insights.

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate and consolidate BCP\’s Research and Engineering monthly results analysis & reporting, time reporting and annual budget preparation.
  • Support BCP\’s System Engineering and Procurement Period Cost, including monthly results analysis & reporting and annual budget preparation.
  • Support BCP\’s Clayton Machine Development Center with Period Cost, Capital and Compliance support.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects focused on financial processes, standardization and lean reporting.

What You Have:

  • Education: This position requires a Degree in Accounting & Finance
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Financial Reporting: Working knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.
